Code Camp 2019 successfully held as a event of VECTOR 2076 1

CodeCamp 2019 with the tagline “Eat, Code, Repeat” successfully conducted in the premise of Paschimanchal Campus. As a major event of VECTOR 2076, the second National Technical Festival of Paschimanchal campus, CodeCamp 2019 was conducted with joint collaboration of Innovative Computer Engineering Society and Club of Technical Society on date 9-11th of Magh. The event was outlined with the three themes that were most relevant in the contemporary situation of Nepal. They are e-Governance, Public Health, and Rural Tourism.

12 Teams from across the country participated in 3 days of intense coding competition, with every project equally capable of winning eye-popping Rs. 25000. The projects range from IoT, BlockChain, Machine Learning, web and android apps.

The final of the event held on the third day of the event. 4 Judges with different personal backgrounds closely evaluated each project, cross-questioned each way the projects could be judged, suggested critical limitations that each project carries, and yes, of course, appreciated for the impeccable job that they have done in such a short time period.

After a close evaluation of each project, the winner of the event was announced by the Chief of the Campus, Ram Prasad Poudel who told that these events are really needed for fostering the inner creative ideas of the students. He looks to be more than happy for seeing his students conducting a national level program in the campus which has helped to raise the standard of Paschimanchal Campus.

Team: Team Samadhan
(Winner of CodeCamp 2019)

The winning team was “Team Samadhan” which the main idea was to use machine learning and deep learning in order to make the ECG system cheap and affordable for every person. The team consists of Darshan Acharya, Sulav Timilsina and Milan Gautam who are also students of Computer Engineering 2074 batch of Paschimanchal Campus. They described how ECG machines consisting of thousands can be done with just Rs. 250. The Judges seem to be highly impressed with their ideas and their presentation. The winning price was allocated as Rs. 25000.

The runner up team was “Aces” consisting of team members Amrit Acharya, Ashish Dhakal and Ashish Jangram who are the students of Kathmandu University. Their project entitled “Ghumna Jaam” was based on Rural Tourism and they focused on how their android app can promote local guides and cheap tourism to the places of Nepal. The Judges appreciated for their simple for relevant and effective solutions to existing problems of tourism in Nepal and encouraged them to take it further to the entrepreneurship level. The Runner-Up prize of the event was Rs. 12000.

The Coordinator of the event Sujan Pandey thanked every participant, every sponsors, VECTOR Committee, Department of Computer and Electronics engineering and Paschimanchal Campus for their invaluable help and support throughout the event.
